Free and Reduced Price Meals are available to families who believe they may qualify. If your household is currently receiving benefits from SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-formerely the Food Stamp Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) or, FDPIR (Food Distribution on Indian Reservation), you may not need to fill out a free and reduced meal application. Nutrition Services will email and/or mail out a "Direct Certification" letter which states that your child(ren) will receive free school breakfasts and lunches for School Year 2019-20. If you have not received this letter, we do not show your child(ren) to be receiving this benefit. Please contact Nutrition Services at 816-986-2204 for verification.
If your family chooses to apply based on household gross income, please complete a "Free and Reduced Meal Application." The application can be filled out on-line. Just click on myschoolapps link below. Or, you can go directly to: www.myschoolapps.com. Hard copy applications are available at any school, on our school district website or at Nutrition Services, 702 SE 291 Hwy, Lee's Summit, MO. Please fill the form out completely and return to any school office or to Nutrition Services.
Only complete one application per family. The information you give will be used to determine or prove your child's eligibility for free or reduced-priced meals. This information may also be used for other state or federally funded school benefits.

Within 48 hours of completing a online free and reduced meal application, you may verify and print your application result letter for your file. To review and/or print the approval letter go directly to the site:
You will need your confirmation number from when you filled out the online application on heartlandapps.com or, your child(ren's) student ID # and last name. Remember, it may take up to 48 hours before result letter is posted.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
